Poets wanted ... a competitive poetry invitational...

Fall/Winter Poetry Anthology

Submissions must be postmarked
by August 31, 2011.

Announcing this fall's poetry anthology:
Elizabeth Stuart Ward (1844 - 1911)
An Anthology in Memoriam".

All poets are welcome to participate in this competitive poetry invitational where we celebrate the contributions made by poets of the past.

Elizabeth Stuart Phelps Ward was born at Andover, Massachusetts. In most of her writings she used her mother's name "Elizabeth Stuart Phelps" as a pseudonym, both before and after her marriage in 1888 to Herbert Dickinson Ward, a journalist seventeen years younger. She also used the pseudonym Mary Adams.

Ward wrote three Spiritualist novels and a novella about animal rights. While writing other popular stories, she was also a great advocate, by lecturing and otherwise, for social reform, temperance, and the emancipation of women. She was also involved in clothing reform for women, urging them to burn their corsets in 1874.

Any and all poets are encouraged to participate in this poetry invitational. About 50 to 100 poems, more or less will be selected and published in a laminated, limited paperback edition.
